Do operatives ever pay a fee?

Never. Operatives join completely free and always receive their full agreed day rate. Platform fees are charged exclusively to hirers. There are no deductions from operative pay at any point.
Is there a registration fee for hirers?

No. Registration is completely free for hirers. You only pay platform fees when a placement successfully commences — pay only when you place.
How does the sliding scale work exactly?

Every placement starts at 30% for the first 2 days. If the placement runs to day 3 onwards it drops to 20% for that period. From day 8 onwards it reduces further to 15%. The fee rate changes automatically based on placement length — you don't need to do anything.
What if a placement doesn't start — do I still pay?

No. Platform fees are only charged when a placement successfully commences. If an operative doesn't show up or a placement falls through before starting, no fee is charged.
How is the subcontractor 5% fee calculated?

The 5% fee is calculated on the total contract value. A £10,000 contract costs £500. A £50,000 contract costs £2,500. The fee is deducted at the point of payment through the platform — no upfront payment required.
Are there any hidden charges?

None. No monthly subscriptions. No registration fees. No posting fees. No messaging fees. No hidden charges of any kind. The only cost is the platform fee when a placement or contract successfully takes place.
